The Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame (KHSBHF) is an independent, non-profit, charitable organization (501c3) striving to recognize and protect the rich cultural heritage of Kentucky High School basketball.
In recognition of 2017-2018 being the 100th Anniversary of Kentucky High School Basketball, this documentary video category should tell a unique, compelling, fascinating basketball story about a storied gymnasium or lost school (one that no longer exists). The product can include interviews, video footage, some still shots, newspaper clippings and other media. The product must be no longer than 8 minutes in length. Producers of the best products, one winning video from each of the 16 basketball regions will be invited to the STLP State Championship as finalists and the team members will come up on stage and receive scholarship money. Judges will be video professionals and members of the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame Committee.
At the STLP State Showcase just like at the state basketball tournament, the top teams will be recognized and awarded additional monetary scholarships with the Centennial State Champion and Runner-Up also receiving trophies.
B. Basketball-related Teacher Lesson Plans
Since basketball is a key part of Kentucky’s culture, it is only fitting during this Centennial Celebration that teachers relate some lessons to basketball. Such lesson plans are available for all grade levels and adaptable for all curricular areas at the following link: Lesson Plans For Teachers
