Rupp Arena was alive with excitement last night with anticipation of the matchup of Titans, Coach Ralph Carlisle’s Lafayette Generals battling Coach Bobby Keith’s Clay County Tigers. The game proved to be everything the fans expected and more! The Clay County Tigers came out roaring to a 10 point first quarter lead before the strong inside play of Center Bill Florence (20)and guard Vernon Hatton (16) led the Generals comeback. Clay County’s trio of Richie Farmer (24), Russ Chadwell (16), and Russ Farmer (14) were the Tiger’s scoring leaders. The game was won at the free throw line as Lafayette scored 7 points more than Clay County.
